# WCAGdesk

> WCAGdesk is an EU web-accessibility compliance platform for the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and Germany's Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG). It runs continuous WCAG 2.2 AA scans with the real axe-core engine and produces tamper-evident, independently verifiable evidence: an RFC 3161-timestamped, SHA-256 hash-chained audit trail anchored weekly as a Merkle root on Polygon. Built for EU/German e-commerce operators who must prove ongoing accessibility due diligence — especially when a BFSG Abmahnung (warning letter) arrives.

## Who it's for
EU and German e-commerce operators subject to the EAA / BFSG, in force since 28 June 2025. Not for microenterprises (under 10 employees AND under €2M revenue), which are exempt from the service requirements — WCAGdesk says so plainly rather than selling to them.

## Honest limitations
Automated scanning with axe-core detects roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. No tool makes a site 100% compliant. WCAGdesk produces a defensible record of continuous due diligence and the accessibility statement EU operators must publish — not a compliance guarantee.

## Not an overlay
WCAGdesk runs a read-only crawler against public pages and injects nothing into the site. It is explicitly the opposite category from accessibility overlays/widgets (e.g. accessiBe, UserWay), which earned accessiBe a $1M US FTC penalty in 2025.
