Calculate your Abmahnung exposure.
Different countries enforce differently, different verticals attract different attention, and a €100k storefront sees different risk from a €5M one. This calculator gives a transparent estimate of your annual exposure — and the months of WCAGdesk subscription a single prevented incident would cover. The math is published below; nothing is hidden.

Methodology
How the math works (citable, no hidden multipliers)
Annual exposure = P(incident) × E(cost per incident).
E(cost per incident) is anchored to the published cost range for
a typical German BFSG Abmahnung: €1,500–€7,500 in legal fees plus the
Unterlassungserklärung carrying €5,001 per future violation. We use a base of
€4,500 and scale it by your monthly revenue (larger sites face
larger fee anchors and more aggressive law-firm targeting).
P(incident) starts from a base annual probability for the
median DE B2C ecommerce shop in the €100k–€500k revenue band with a small
catalogue (we use 10%), then multiplies by country enforcement
intensity, vertical visibility, revenue scale, and page-count exposure.
| Factor | Multiplier range | Source / reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Country (DE) | 1.0 | Active Abmahnung market since Aug 2025 |
| Country (FR) | 0.6 | ApiDV / Droit Pluriel injunctions Nov 2025 |
| Country (NO) | 0.5 | Daily regulatory fines, lower private-letter volume |
| Country (AT/NL/BE/IT/ES/EU) | 0.3 – 0.45 | Slower national enforcement ramp |
| Country (PL/other) | 0.25 – 0.3 | Limited enforcement signal as of 2026-05 |
| US shipping to EU | 0.7 × DE | BFSG applies; lower hit rate due to discovery cost |
| Vertical (B2C ecom) | 1.5 | Public-facing consumer storefront, primary target |
| Vertical (B2C marketplace) | 1.3 | High visibility, distributed seller liability |
| Vertical (publishing / travel / consumer fintech) | 0.9 – 1.1 | Mid-visibility, mixed enforcement |
| Vertical (B2B SaaS) | 0.4 | Lower consumer-protection enforcement |
| Revenue band | 0.4× – 2.2× | Visibility and fee-anchor scale with revenue |
| Page count | 0.7× – 1.8× | More surface area = more findings cited per letter |
| Microenterprise exemption | 0 | EAA § service requirements exempt < 10 staff and < €2M revenue |
This is a planning estimate, not a forecast. Actual enforcement is lumpy and conditioned on factors we cannot model (your URL on a law firm's working list, a competitor filing a complaint, a single user reporting via an EAA Article 4 feedback channel). The number is useful as a comparison against the cost of a subscription — that comparison is robust even at order-of-magnitude precision.
