WCAG conformance levels (A, AA, AAA)
WCAG’s three tiers. EU law (via EN 301 549) requires Level A and AA; AAA is aspirational.
WCAG defines three conformance levels. Level A is the minimum; Level AA adds the criteria most regulations require; Level AAA is the strictest and is not expected wholesale. The EAA and BFSG require A + AA via EN 301 549.
“WCAG 2.2 AA” therefore means: every Level A and Level AA success criterion of WCAG 2.2 is met.
