BFSG (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz)
Germany’s Accessibility Strengthening Act — the national law transposing the EU Accessibility Act, in force since 28 June 2025.
The Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) is the German law implementing the EU Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882). Since 28 June 2025 it requires many consumer-facing products and services — including most online shops — to meet defined accessibility requirements.
